Jan Chambers designed this costume for the Playmakers Repertory Theater’s 2021 production of the As You Like It directed by Tia James. These costumes were draped by Athene Wright.
The chaps were based on historical examples of woolly chaps. They were made with faux alpaca fur over a loosely woven fashion fabric. Their structure was provided by a canvas flat lining and strategically placed ridgeline boning in grosgrain casings. The shirt was patterned and cut by Athene. It is a standard men’s dress shirts cut and stitched to be rigidly pattern matched.
