I made this armor from 3oz vegtable tanned leather. The floral motifs are drawn from a 14th century lattice design and laser cut into the leather. I formed the solid body panels by wet blocking leather over a body form. I then painted the peices using thin coats of leather dye. I employed subtle tromploy techniques to enhance the overall effect. The pieces are riveted together. I have done considerable research into the applicaitons of digital technolgies in costume production. In many cases, I have found the high-tech approach is more glamorous but less effective than traditional methods.
